Controls
A handful of controls and icons appear all over AVUT, not tied to any one module. This page is a quick reference for what they look like and what they do.
Theme switcher
In the sidebar footer, opens a menu to pick Light, Dark, or System — System follows your device's setting.
Scope switcher
At the top of the sidebar, shows where you currently are — an organisation, your Personal Account, or System — and opens a menu to jump straight to any organisation you belong to, your personal account, or (if you have the access) the system admin area.
User menu
Your avatar at the bottom of the sidebar opens a menu to your account settings and sign-out. Switching between organisations, your personal account, or the system admin area is the scope switcher's job — see above.
Sidebar open/close
Collapses or expands the sidebar. On a phone, the sidebar opens as an overlay instead of sitting alongside the page.
The pencil icon
Marks something as editable — click it (or the row/field it's attached to) to make a change.
The vertical ellipsis (⋮)
Opens a menu of further actions for whatever it's attached to — a row, a record, a control. It's the app-wide "more options" button.
Table header menus
Click a column header to sort or filter by that column. Once a sort or filter is applied, the header shows which one — an arrow for sort direction, a filter icon when values are filtered.
Keyboard shortcuts
Many pages support keyboard shortcuts for common actions. Press ? anywhere to open a dialogue listing every shortcut available on the page you're on. Shortcuts are shown like this: ⌘k.
